- purpose of your stay
eg. retreat, wine trail, hiking, relaxing, visiting family or student at SIU etc. We’re happy to accommodate any special requests(eg. student staying with you overnight), make suggestions(places you might like to eat) or make sure you have what you need(art supplies for a retreat stay).
We accept a deposit through Venmo or Credit Card(5% fee).

Three Night Stay over a weekend: $450 inc. tax
Three day Stay during the week: $420 inc. tax
Additional Nights: $125 per night
Weeklong Stays: $850
Cleaning Fee: $50 (up to one week)
Pet Fee: $40

Three Night Stay over a Weekend: $375
Three Night Stay during the week: $345
Additional Nights: $95 per night
Weeklong Stays: $650
Cleaning Fee: $40

*Three night package includes taxes. Extra nights, add 6% state tax and 5% county tax.
*Reduced rates for winter retreats & return guests
*Rates are based on up to two guests. A third guest is $35/per night extra
*Guests are welcome to have friends or family visit, utilize the main kitchen if needed and reap the benefits of the various harvest seasons
Food
Eva's Roost and Tiny House of Paul both have a basic kitchen that includes: a small fridge, single induction element, toaster oven, kettle, coffee bean grinder & french press for coffee, electric fry pan(tiny house) and air fryer(the roost) & everything needed for creating a meal(except the food). You're welcome to store food in the freezer at the main house.
Bonnie owns Cobden Village Shops in downtown Cobden, where you'll find Equal Exchange coffee, dark chocolate, teas, and local honey. We also carry zero waste products including shampoo/conditioner, local soaps, laundry strips, beeswax wraps, net produce bags(great for morels) and more. Guests are welcome to order locally grown and produced goods through www.leafffoodhub.com. Deliveries are Thursdays from 3:30 - 5pm at Cobden Village Shops(Bonnie will pick up if you are arriving Friday or Saturday).
Cobden has several good places to eat including:
Iron Whisk -an almost famous place for breakfast or lunch 8am - 2pm Thurs-Sun
Taqueria Pequena - a famous traditional taco stand open 11 - 3pm everyday except Sunday. Celebrating 20 years in 2024.
Mexican Grocery - La Mexicana - spices, drinks, canned goods & more. They sometimes offer some prepared food - just ask.
In the spring, there is a delicious Fish Fry on Fridays at the Catholic church in Cobden. There are several good places to eat nearby including Fork & Vine, Owl Creek Vineyard, Peachbarn Cafe and more in the area. Most wineries & breweries have food with some having full-service. Other restaurants/caterers, food trucks, special dinners & music events with food are plentiful in the Southernmost Illinois area. Carbondale is about a 20-25 minute drive and offers a nice selection of restaurants as well.
A binder offers suggestions and directions. You can also go on Facebook and check out the Southern Illinois Eats page - over 60,000 members, lots of reviews and referrals for good food. The closest grocery store is Kroger in Anna. The next closest is Schnucks, Aldi's, Kroger, Fresh Foods or the Neighborhood Coop in Carbondale. Local farmer's markets abound. Ask us.
