2. Booking with Airbnb is the most secure way to book. You & I pay an extra fee to Airbnb for that security. However, we accept direct bookings if you've been referred to us or are a return guest. Come back to our Contact page. Send your request including:
- dates you'd like to stay
- how many people
- pet requests
- purpose of your stay eg. retreat, wine trail, hiking, relaxing, visiting family or student at SIU etc. We’re happy to accommodate any special requests(eg. student staying with you overnight), make suggestions(places you might like to eat) or make sure you have what you need(art supplies for a retreat stay).

- We accept payment by: Venmo, Credit Card(5% fee), check or cash
- Prices above include state & county hotel occupancy taxes - we are licensed for accommodation in Union County Illinois
- Rates are based on up to two guests
- Guests are welcome to have friends or family visit during the daytime
- a pull-out couch is available for a visiting guest - $25/night extra

Kitchens: Eva's Roost and Tiny House of Paul both have a basic kitchen that includes: a small fridge, single induction element, toaster oven, kettle, coffee bean grinder & french press for coffee, electric fry pan(tiny house) and air fryer(the roost) & everything needed for creating a meal(except the food). You're welcome to store food in the freezer at the main house. We also have a large fridge/freezer at the back of the woodshop.
Our Shops: Bonnie owns Cobden Village Shops in downtown Cobden, where you'll find Equal Exchange coffee, dark chocolate, teas, cashews, almonds, olive oil. The shops carry local honey, soap, lotions, tinctures, balms & oils, handmade cloths, hats, bags, wax wraps, & locally roasted coffee, plus laundry strips, produce bags(great for morels) & other zero waste items. Local art & artisan wares, vintage items(including clothes), antiques, gently used/almost new, plus upcycled & refurbished items.
Order Farm Food Ahead: Guests are welcome to order locally grown and produced goods through www.leafffoodhub.com. Deliveries are Thursdays from 3:30 - 5pm at Cobden Village Shops(Bonnie will pick up if you are arriving Friday or Saturday).
Cobden has several good places to eat including:
Iron Whisk -an almost famous place for breakfast or lunch. Open 8am - 2pm Thurs-Sun
Taqueria Pequena - a famous traditional taco stand. Open 11 - 3pm everyday except Sunday. They just celebrated 20 years in 2024.
The Birria Man - various dates & locations - see Facebook page for details
Mexican Grocery - La Mexicana - spices, drinks, canned goods & more. They sometimes offer some prepared food - just ask.
Other Food Options:
Fish Fry on Fridays in the spring Catholic church in Cobden. Peach Festival is the second weekend in August. Christmas Village is the first Saturday in December. There are several good places to eat nearby including Feather Hill, Owl Creek Vineyard, Starview Vineyard and other wineries in the area. Most wineries & breweries have food with some having full-service. I recommend Kiki's Cafe in Anna for locally roasted coffee and yummy simple food options. Kitchen On LaFayette has delicious lunches & dinners on specific days(check their Facebook page). King's Wok is a great local Chinese food restaurant. Several Mexican restaurants in Anna have a variety of options. Other restaurants/caterers, food trucks, special dinners & music events with food are plentiful in the Southernmost Illinois area. Carbondale is about a 20-25 minute drive and offers a nice selection of restaurants as well.
